Working at Preshil

Preshil is a small, secular and progressive co-educational school for ages 3 and 4 through to Year 12. The students take an active role in their education and develop responsibility for their actions and ultimately their futures. Preshil is about “fitting the School to the child”, allowing them to find their voice and explore their own passions.

Preshil is an authorised International Baccalaureate World School with a Diploma Programme (DP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP). We use a restorative approach to discipline and are always searching for outstanding teachers with high levels of leadership experience and capacity.

Available Roles

Preshil is seeking applications from suitably experienced Science teachers for this full-time ongoing position commencing in January 2024. The ability to also teach senior Biology or Environmental Systems and Societies will be an advantage. Experience in the Diploma Programme (DP) of the International Baccalaureate is preferred but not essential. Experienced VCE Chemistry teachers are welcome to apply.

Preshil is seeking applications from suitably experienced library technicians for this ongoing part-time position commencing in January 2024. (FTE 0.60/3 days per week). The incumbent will work primarily in the library at the secondary school campus with some oversight of the library at the primary school campus.

Preshil is seeking applications from enthusiastic, experienced and suitably qualified generalist primary school teachers to work at Arlington our primary school campus. Experience in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate is preferred but not essential. This is a full time, ongoing role commencing in January 2024. 

Preshil teachers model cooperative learning, they establish and maintain meaningful and respectful relationships with children as the basis for learning. Together teachers and children create a culture of joyful tolerance and inclusivity in which the individual is celebrated, and competition and comparisons are avoided. Teachers understand that children are afforded choice and agency in their learning and are supported to balance their rights and responsibilities in reference to the community.
