Dear Preshil Families,
I want to wish you all a happy new year from California where we have been visiting extended family for the past two weeks. I look forward to returning soon to Melbourne to begin preparing for the start of the new school year.

I have had a chance to reflect on a year full of learning and change for me and my family and for Preshil as it came out of two years of COVID lockdowns and leadership transitions. I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome my family and I received from the Preshil school community. I also wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of the people who dedicated much time and energy and care to the School: our students (including the recently graduated Year 12 students who are off into their next chapter), parents, alumni (a special thanks to those who have joined the Alumni Council), and of course all of the teachers and administrators who throw their whole selves into their work day in and day out to make the School a special and inclusive place for students. I also wanted to thank our Council Members who spend much time and energy working on a voluntary basis to guide and lead the School. A special thanks to our Council Chair, Emma Zipper, whose family foundation has made an initial donation to help fund Preshil’s efforts and programming in the new year connected to reconciliation with Australia’s First Nations peoples.
The final weeks of the 2022 school year seemed to pass by in a blur with lots of culminating events and celebrations. Below is a recap of the last month. Look out for an update later in January about the new school year, including a calendar with the year’s important dates and events.
