The program helps students research industries and occupations to undertake work experience, volunteer, attend information sessions and discover new interests through an array of electives available to them across their Preshil education.

It is important to assist young people to build resilience in their capacity to manage change throughout their lives. To understand and manage influences relating to career planning and lifelong learning and develop skills, knowledge and capabilities to make decisions regarding their future career through critical thinking, inquiry and research.

Recently Bronte had the pleasure of assisting our Years 9 and 10 to participate in the Morrisby Aspirations Assessment. Morrisby Aspirations is a free standalone career research system for students based on the career interest component of the very well-regarded Morrisby Profile

There are self-report questionnaires on career Interests, work values and study interests, and students can view rich information on careers, subject choices, apprenticeships and higher education study, with routes and pathways to entry and suggestions on subject choices.

Students are also shown a list of related careers to explore along with a host of other available resources that may include, but not limited to, website links, case studies, industry bodies and videos. Students have access to the program throughout their secondary years enabling them to set goals and action plans and make informed decisions along the way. As students favorite careers and occupations they are interested in and delete those they are not, the program generates new suggestions based on students interests and their initial assessment. We will be holding a Morrisby Informations session in May during the Year 10 Careers Activity Week. More information will be shared about that shortly.

In the meantime please take time to read the Careers Hub Quarterly Newsletters and regular dates for the diary. These are shared via your class Compass Newsfeed and the dedicated Preshil Careers website which is available to all students, parents and staff. Years 9 to 12 can also find information in their Careers Google Classrooms.
