Principal’s Update – Term 1 2024

Dear Preshil Community,

I hope you and particularly your young people have had a first term full of growth and learning. We are pleased to share with you a bit of reading material as we head into break. With this newsletter, we introduce to you a new format that brings updates and insights from across all campuses and programs here in one place. This first one features staff introducing themselves and their areas of expertise and responsibility. In subsequent newsletters look for features of student work and program highlights.

Our aim is to keep you well-informed and connected with the many happenings at Preshil. Starting in this edition, you will see updates from not only myself but also our School Board, Heads of Campus, International Baccalaureate® (IB) Coordinators, and more. This approach will provide a comprehensive view of the various aspects that make Preshil the unique educational community that it is.

One of the highlights of our newsletter will be a dedicated section from our Wellbeing Leader, Natalie Kisilevich. Natalie will share resources and insights on a range of wellbeing matters, including developmentally specific resources geared towards students of different ages. We hope these insights and materials will be useful for you as parents and helpful in the ways we can partner with you to support our young people at Preshil

There will also be a section focusing specifically on Preshil staff. This provides an opportunity for you to get to know the faces behind the scenes and learn more about the passion and expertise that drives our educational community.

As Preshil moves into the future with a new strategic plan and the appointment of a new principal we also want to honour our rich history. Each Newsletter will also contain an update or story regarding a Preshil Alum to bring the alumni community into the present and to share with the current community connections to Preshil’s past.

We hope that this newsletter becomes a valuable source of information and connection for you. Your engagement and support are appreciated and so helpful in creating a rich feeling of community here at Preshil.

Josh
