SCHOLARSHIPS

Preshil is committed to providing opportunities for students who would otherwise not have access to an independent school education. Our Scholarship offerings are designed to support prospective students and reflect our commitment to an inclusive and diverse community.

CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year at Preshil, we search for students who are looking for opportunities to further their imagination, creativity and independent thinking in an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The School seeks to find applicants who will bring breadth to our community and we encourage enthusiastic and creative students to apply.

Preshil’s Creativity and Innovation Scholarships are built on the IB Programmes’ objective to “develop internationally minded people who, recognising their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world” (IBO).

Our Year 7 and 11 Creativity and Innovation Scholarships address this by valuing a broad range of aptitudes. Preshil welcomes musicians, scientists, actors, engineers, elite athletes, filmmakers, YouTubers, authors, activists, artists and orators who are self-aware learners and who are ready to celebrate with us what they value about their learning.

The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

Selection Criteria

We consider students whose innovative and creative endeavours are of an exceptional standard.

The Creativity and Innovation Scholarships are for entry into Years 7 and 11 for 2024.

PORTFOLIO
Students can apply by submitting a portfolio of work displaying evidence of imaginative pursuits. Successful applicants are expected to actively contribute to our school community and will already identify ways in which they can be outstanding in their various pursuits including (but not limited to):

  • Extraordinary fine art skills
  • Being outspoken and at the forefront in raising awareness of world issues
  • Excelling in technological endeavours (such as developing games or apps or building websites or having burgeoning Youtube channels)
  • Accomplished performing art talent in areas (such as acting, filmmaking or music)
  • …and much more!

Depending on the application, here are some examples of what some successful, past applicants have submitted:

WRITTEN TASK
Please include a handwritten response in the student’s Portfolio identifying how they meet the criteria of each element of the IB Learner Profile.

INTERVIEW
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview with the Principal, and take place on campus at our Blackhall Kalimna (Secondary). This is typically with the student only, and is an informal opportunity for us to get to know one another. There is no test! This is an opportunity for the applicant to showcase their endeavours and share with us how they will thrive at Preshil.

All interviews will take place soon after applications close.

Applications Process

Applicants are asked to submit a portfolio of material that shows evidence of creative, innovative and imaginative endeavour in any field of learning and demonstrates their capacity to contribute to and flourish within the Preshil community.

  1. Submit a Scholarship Application (see How to Apply) including a portfolio
  2. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend an interview with the Principal
