Preshil Scholarship Program

In the classroom and the art studio, on the stage and on the sporting field, in the community and across the globe, Preshil students exhibit outstanding intellect, spirit, creativity, generosity, and leadership. Our Scholarship Program celebrates outstanding endeavour in an area of interest including social justice, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. Preshil seeks to embolden each student to explore the areas that spark their interest, challenge them to take ownership of their learning, and give them the freedom to be the author of their life’s story.

Preshil is committed to providing opportunities for students who would otherwise not have access to an independent school education. Our Scholarship offerings are designed to support prospective students and reflect our commitment to an inclusive and diverse community.

Each year at Preshil, we search for students who are looking for opportunities to further their imagination, creativity and independent thinking in an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The School seeks to find applicants who will bring breadth to our community and we encourage enthusiastic and creative students to apply.

Preshil’s scholarships are built on the IB Programmes’ objective to “develop internationally minded people who, recognising their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world” (IBO). The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

We have long felt that academic scholarships fail to speak to the whole child. Our scholarships address this by valuing a broad range aptitudes and as we do not prescribe narrow terms of application. We have had musicians, actors, film makers, YouTubers, authors, activists, artists and orators apply who are self-aware learners and who are ready to celebrate with us what they value about their learning. In past years, we have received applications from talented and accomplished musical theatre actors, aspiring and creative filmmakers, budding scientists who were keen to see technological advancements in their chosen field and outspoken advocates in areas such as sustainability, climate change and LGBQTIA issues.

We’re looking for students for whom the breadth and rigour of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years and Diploma Programmes are the best fit. We consider students whose innovative, social justice, entrepreneurial and creative endeavours are of exceptional standard and seek to be energised in their approach to education. These students see their learning journey as more than just their schooling. They may already identify ways in which they’ll be active in our school community through various pursuits including outstanding fine art skills or being outspoken and at the forefront in raising awareness of world issues. Some students excel in technological endeavours such as developing games or apps or building websites or have burgeoning Youtube channels. We also value the performing arts and students who dream of becoming an actor, filmmaker or musician. These students want a school in which trying these things is welcoming and safe.

There are lots of students for whom Preshil would be a wonderful school and we want to ensure that we open access to them and their families. We hope that scholarships bring breadth to our community, increase diversity as well as invite enthusiastic students, and their families, into our community.
