We are excited to share with you what our Year 7 Language and Literature class has been up to this term! We have covered various topics, including Narrative Writing and Narrative Elements, Picture Story Books, and the theme of “Stories of Survival”.
One of the major projects that students worked on was an Interdisciplinary Unit with the Art team, where they created a picture storybook that reflected the theme “Stories of Survival”. Throughout the term, students also learned about important skills and concepts such as the Narrative Arc, Character Traits, Audience, and how Images can enhance a story.
We were fortunate to have a special guest speaker, Zana Fraillon, who came in to run a workshop with the students. Her insights were invaluable and we were all inspired by her passion for storytelling.
As we move into the next term, we will be starting our first formal text, “The Outsiders”. We hope you are as excited as we are to explore this classic novel and continue to develop our skills and knowledge of Language and Literature.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and their learning.
