Drawing on a tradition shaped for nearly a century, music at Preshil invites students to see themselves as creators from the very beginning. From as early as age three right through to Year 12, students are encouraged to experiment, collaborate and develop their own musical voice, with individual expression sitting at the heart of every class.
Music learning here is active and communal. Students build commitment through regular practice, ensemble work and frequent opportunities to perform—whether in informal settings, doorstep gigs, concerts or large-scale Musical Theatre productions. Participation matters. So does showing up for each other.
We see music as a craft that grows over time, supported by peers, educators and families. It isn’t about striving for perfection, but about genuine engagement, curiosity and the desire to express something real.
As students grow, they choose different areas of focus, exploring a wide range of instruments and styles. Our instrumental music program supports this diversity, allowing each student to follow their interests while remaining part of a vibrant, collaborative musical community.
