Hello Preshil community,

Welcome to another edition of the Weekly!

We warmly welcome you to Term 4 and are excited to share this last part of the year with you.

Music Camp at Alice Miller, Big Day In and Doorstep Concert
Over the past two weeks, our students have impressed and inspired at three wonderful music events: a Music Camp at Alice Miller School in Macedon, the Arlington Big Day In, and the Senior School Doorstep Concert. These performances are the result of countless hours of practice – learning instruments, rehearsing together, and polishing their acts. It takes real courage to step forward and share music with an audience, and our students did so with joy and generosity. Thank you to our instrumental teachers for their guidance, and a massive congratulations to every performer – we are so proud and excited for future performances!

VCE VM Work Experience Placement
As part of the VCE Vocational Major program, Will has completed two years of a work experience placement with our school librarian Che. During this time, he has developed a wide range of technical, research, and communication skills, from cataloguing and information management to digital tools and customer service. His commitment and dedication have made him an invaluable part of our library community.

Thank you and Congratulations, Will!

Upcoming Webinar: Supporting Your Teen’s Wellbeing with the Black Dog Institute – Focus on Sleep
Presented by Dr Sarah Barker, Clinical Psychologist at the Black Dog Institute, this one-hour online session will take parents on a deep dive into the world of adolescence — a period of enormous physical, emotional, social and cognitive change. Dr Barker will share practical, evidence-based tools to help parents navigate this stage with confidence and care.

A key focus of the webinar will be the crucial role of sleep in supporting young people’s wellbeing and learning. Dr Barker will introduce Sleep Ninja®, a free, research-backed app designed by the Black Dog Institute to help teens develop healthy sleep habits and improve sleep quality.

This free event is part of Preshil’s ongoing commitment to supporting families as partners in wellbeing. We strongly encourage all parents and carers to attend and discover how small changes can make a lasting difference to your teen’s health, happiness, and future success.
