Our planning is taking shape

During the first two terms of this year, we invited our young people and staff into the conversation about the future design of our campuses. Their ideas and perspectives have helped shape the emerging plans for Arlington and Lincoln Square, ensuring they reflect both our educational philosophy and the needs of our community.

Lincoln Square

Following extensive consultation with students and staff NMBW Architecture Studio is currently developing the concept design for our future Senior Studio at Lincoln Square.

The concept design translates the ideas and aspirations shared throughout the consultation process into spaces that are purpose-built for the way young people learn at Preshil. Every element has been carefully considered to support independence, collaboration, creativity and quiet reflection.

The emerging design includes a welcoming arrival space, flexible common areas for gathering and learning, a shared kitchen that fosters community, dedicated art studios, a light-filled winter garden, and smaller reflective nooks for focused work or quite breaks. Together, these spaces will create a campus that feels both inspiring and deeply connected to our educational philosophy.

The concept design is progressing well, and we look forward to sharing it with our community during Term 3.

Arlington

The Arlington Campus master plan has now been shared with children, staff and families, and we are excited by the vision taking shape.

Developed by Baracco + Wright, the plan reflects a deep understanding of Preshil's educational philosophy. Their connection to our community, with their own child having journeyed through Preshil from Lighthouse to the Peppercorns, has brought a unique appreciation of what makes Arlington such a special place to learn.

The master plan carefully honours Arlington's UNESCO award-winning architecture and the cultural and pedagogical principles that have shaped the campus for generations. At the same time, it looks confidently to the future, identifying opportunities to enhance the campus through an "everyone wins, no one loses" approach to design.

As we prepare for the introduction of our new Middle School over the next two years, the master plan provides a thoughtful roadmap for creating spaces that support children at every stage of their learning while preserving everything that makes Arlington unique.
