Hello Preshil community,
Welcome to another edition of the Weekly!
Preshil Secures Creative Partnership with LCI Melbourne
We are pleased to share that Preshil has established a strategic partnership with LCI Melbourne, an international private tertiary provider, based at its leading creative arts campus in Collingwood.
This marks the first in a series of carefully selected, values-aligned partnerships designed to enrich and extend the depth of our Senior Studio program, particularly as we prepare for the opening of our Lincoln Square campus in 2028.
Importantly, this partnership is not exclusive. Rather, it reflects a broader commitment to connecting our students with external organisations that can complement and elevate the high-quality learning experiences already at the heart of a Preshil education.
Formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding, the partnership focuses on collaboration across three key areas: people, practice, and pathways. Over the next 18 months, we will explore initial opportunities for engagement, with a view to more fully integrating experiential options from 2028, aligned with the opening of our new Senior Studio campus at Lincoln Square, Carlton. The proximity to LCI Melbourne will help foster a vibrant creative precinct, offering students greater opportunities to connect with both peers and professionals in the creative industries.
Through this collaboration, our teaching team will have opportunities to engage with LCI Melbourne academics and studio practitioners in ways that add meaningful value to existing programs. This may include staff professional learning, guest lectures, skill-specific masterclasses that complement our vertical elective programs, and targeted support across VCE, IB, and VM offerings. Preshil will retain full oversight of how this partnership is enacted, ensuring it is purposeful and aligned with our educational approach.
For students, the partnership offers valuable exposure to contemporary creative practice. Opportunities will include visits to LCI Melbourne’s Collingwood campus and participation in industry-facing events such as graduate exhibitions, fashion runway showcases, and Melbourne Design Week. These experiences are designed to broaden perspectives and support informed decision-making about pathways beyond school.
As Principal, I see this as an important step in strengthening an already rich Senior Studio program and ensuring our students continue to experience learning that is relevant, connected, and deeply engaging.
We look forward to sharing further partnerships as they are established, each contributing in different ways to the breadth and quality of opportunities available to our students.
Warmly,
Aaron Mackinnon
Principal
