Dear Preshil community,
Welcome back to Term 2!
Although this first week has been a short one, I wanted to take a moment to warmly welcome everyone to what promises to be an exciting term filled with meaningful learning and a strong sense of community ahead.
On Tuesday, our staff spent valuable time preparing curriculum, planning upcoming events, and reflecting on the many traditions that will enrich our young people’s experiences this term. These preparations are all part of our commitment to creating a vibrant and transformative educational environment.
This term is set to include many highlights—beyond the day-to-day learning that is already so deeply embedded in our approach. Our students return to a space that not only feels like a second home, but also embodies our progressive philosophy: one where young people are encouraged to take ownership of their learning environment and co-create their experiences. We’re excited to see how this sense of ownership evolves and is expressed throughout the term.
We’re also looking ahead to some key events, including our much-loved Winter Solstice celebration. This is a true community highlight, with plenty of preparation in the lead-up including lantern-making, music, and shared traditions that bring us together in the darker months. In addition, both the Primary and Secondary Schools will take part in camp experiences that are sure to be formative and memorable moments for all involved.
Also a note to say thank you to those of you anticipating the Quiz night. We have unfortunately had to indefinitely postpone this fantastic night but we’ll be sure to let you know of any upcoming events in future.
Wishing our entire community a wonderful start to the term. We look forward to your continued support and enthusiasm as we share in this journey together.
Warmly,
Aaron Mackinnon
Principal
