Welcome to another exciting week at Preshil.

We hope you enjoy reading about activities across our Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary campuses.

Rocky Selected For Space Teams Academy at RMIT

We’re thrilled to celebrate Rocky, who has been selected for the RMIT University Space Teams Academy program taking place during the June school holidays.

This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of Rocky’s curiosity, commitment and passion for learning beyond the classroom.

The RMIT University Space Teams Academy brings together young people with a strong interest in science, technology and space innovation, offering opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve and engage with real-world challenges in the aerospace field.

Congratulations, Rocky, we can’t wait to see where this experience takes you.

VCE VM Promoting Community Projects Masterclass

Our VCE Vocational Major students recently participated in a Design Masterclass led by Preshil alumna Kathryn Walker.

During the workshop, students explored the key elements and principles of effective promotional design while developing content for their upcoming Bake Sale on Tuesday 2 June.

The event has been organised as part of National Reconciliation Week, with students raising funds for Children's Ground through their VM Canteen Community Project. The workshop provided students with an authentic opportunity to apply creative and communication skills in a real-world context, while collaborating with an industry professional from the Preshil alumni community.

Year 9 Mentor

Year 9 and 10s have been preparing for their Central Australia Experience in their Mentor sessions. We have been going over packing lists, food menus, expectations… but today we busted out a swag to practise setting in up and getting comfortable with its coziness. Excitement is starting to build!

VCE Music Night

A full house last night for our VCE Music Unit 1/3 Performance Assessment Evening, with students delivering performances of exceptional quality across an impressively diverse program.

Assessed across technique, interpretation, style, preparation and stage presence, students presented work that reflected not only technical skill, but confidence, individuality and genuine artistic voice, from musical theatre through to experimental electronic music.

An outstanding evening of live performance and a powerful reflection of the depth of music-making within our school community.

Elastic Classroom

Students have taken ownership and shown care for the Elastic Classroom, a staffed, low-stimulus learning space at the heart of the school, available to all students as a normal part of their school day. It is a place where students can settle, continue with low-pressure schoolwork, regulate, and then return to their scheduled classes.

This week, students created a tea station for the space, collaboratively designing a shopping list of teas they felt everyone would enjoy and setting up a welcoming area where students can gather for a cuppa before class or access something calming during the day when needed. We have seen beautiful moments of care emerging naturally in the space, with students offering to make each other tea after difficult conversations, tears, or disagreements.

The Elastic Classroom has also recently been revamped by Greg, Lisa and Brendan, with mood lighting, ambient sounds, and native plants helping to create a calm, grounded atmosphere that students genuinely want to spend time in.

Celebrating Success: Preshil’s First VCE VM Graduate Recognised

Preshil is proud to congratulate Chantelle on being recognised with a Student Achievement Award at this week’s Inner Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network Annual General Meeting.

As Preshil’s first VCE Vocational Major graduate, Chantelle has demonstrated outstanding determination, resilience and commitment to her learning journey. Her recognition reflects not only her personal achievements, but also the strength of applied learning pathways in supporting young people to pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.
