Welcome to another exciting week at Preshil.

We hope you enjoy reading about activities across our Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary campuses.

Grow Your Mind at Arlington

Our final Grow Your Mind character strength focus for the Term is Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence. This strength encourages children to slow down, notice, and appreciate the beauty, wonder, creativity, effort, and excellence that exist all around them.

As we approach Winter Solstice, children are being encouraged to pay closer attention to moments of awe and wonder, whether found in nature, the arts, the achievements of others, or simple everyday experiences. Through reflection, discussion, and mindfulness activities, they are learning that appreciation begins with noticing.

Each day, classes continue to take part in our “Grab Five” wellbeing approach, with short activities that build a shared language around emotions, strengths, and wellbeing. This fortnight, children will be reflecting on questions such as: What inspired you this week? and What made you stop and take notice?

We hope this focus encourages children to find beauty, inspiration, and wonder in both the world around them and the people within it.

Only a Few Tickets Left for Hadestown

There are still a few remaining tickets for the upcoming Hadestown production. Due to overwhelming demand, we've added a matinee on Saturday 1 August, 2.00pm. If you missed out, this is your last chance to experience the show. Secure your tickets before they're gone below.

Winter Solstice

We are gearing up for next weeks Winter Solstice celebrations.

As the days grow shorter, our annual Winter Solstice celebration brings warmth, light and community to our Arlington campus.

Students spend weeks creating beautiful paper lanterns before gathering for a parade that winds through the school grounds, illuminating the evening with colour and creativity. Families contribute homemade soups to share, creating a generous community feast, while twinkling lights transform the campus into a magical landscape. A bonfire becomes the heart of the celebration, drawing people together to connect, reflect and families gather in the hall for musical performances from students of all ages.

Join us for this much-loved Preshil tradition - families from K-12 are all welcome.

Celebrating Our Creative Faculty: Ella Thompson in Concert

We are thrilled to share an upcoming show by Preshil Voice Teacher Ella Thompson, a multi-award-winning artist whose distinctive voice has established her as one of contemporary soul's leading talents.

Ella is celebrating the release of her incredible new 7” record, Promise To Keep / Change Of Heart.

At Preshil, we are fortunate to have a teaching faculty who genuinely love and live the arts, contributing to the creative and cultural life of Melbourne and bringing their own creative practice into the classroom every day. We extend this invitation to families so they can experience the inspiring work our educators create beyond the Preshil campus.

You can get a glimpse of Ella's performances here.
