We have not broken stride as we have moved into the new semester.
Over the coming months, many of the highlights of our annual program continue to unfold. This week our Senior School Production has taken centre stage, a huge highlight for our students and community to enjoy. The culmination of many hours and months of dedication, focus, collaboration and commitment. Well done to our students for their courage to give their all to this event and a big thanks to our staff for their work behind the scenes to support the production students to shine! What a moment!
This week also marked our first 100 days of school for our 5s (Preps). Whilst this may have crept up for them, they have plans for next week to celebrate this milestone with the broader Lighthouse group.
In a few weeks' time we will celebrate Science Week at Blackhall and then our Anthology Week at Arlington as part of our Book Week celebrations. There really is so much to be looking forward to.
We are delighted to have everyone back and look forward to a rewarding and engaging second semester together.
Campus Update
It has been wonderful to see our newly renovated Treehouse reopened for use. The transformation has been spectacular, thoughtfully honouring the original intention, character and aesthetic of the space while enhancing its functionality for today's students.
Our thanks go to the skilled builders who have brought this project to life. Many in our community will recognise their craftsmanship from earlier works across the Arlington campus, including the Lighthouse. The Treehouse marks the first completed stage of our campus master plan, and we are thrilled to see children once again enjoying the full playground, the football field and this much-loved space.
Work on the broader capital program continues to progress well. We have now gone to tender for the Lincoln Square construction, which is scheduled to commence later this year, while detailed design work continues in parallel for the internal fit-outs. It is exciting to see these projects gathering momentum, and we are pleased that the program remains on plan.
The Trinity-Preshil Connection
A beautiful article has recently been released by the Trinity Archive team. It speaks to our adaptive past as we sought to grow our emerging program into the senior years, and the collaborative spirit shared with Trinity in support of this growth. A nod to the mutual regard between two very different schools.
After months of rehearsals, creativity and dedication, our students took to the stage at Chapel Off Chapel last night and delivered an incredible performance. We couldn't be prouder of the talent, courage and commitment shown by every member of the cast, crew, musicians and creative team.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for opening night and helped make it so special. With three sold-out performances still to come this weekend, we can't wait to share this remarkable production with the rest of our audiences.
Congratulations to everyone involved, you've created something truly special.

Colin Atkinson, of Walithiga Wares visits the Arlington Community
The Arlington Community recently welcomed Colin Atkinson from Walithiga Wares for an engaging and hands-on learning experience about bush tucker and traditional bush medicine.
Students had the opportunity to taste a variety of native plants, with the pepperberries proving a memorable favourite. Their fiery flavour certainly lived up to their name! Colin explained that, unlike chilli, the best way to cool the burn isn't water, but river mint.
Following the session, Colin joined members of the Help Restore The Pines Committee to plant a selection of bush tucker and bush medicine species in The Pines, helping to create a living resource for future learning. He has also promised to return for a special cooking demonstration, where students will experience traditional techniques using water-soaked paperbark to wrap fish or meat, flavoured with ingredients harvested from the bush tucker garden.

Preshil Music Teacher Tika to Appear on The Voice Australia
We're incredibly proud to share that one of our talented music tutors, Tika Cetinich, has successfully auditioned for The Voice Australia and will appear in Episode 3 of the new season!
As a performer, songwriter and recording artist, Tika brings real-world industry experience into every lesson at Preshil. She inspires our students not only through her incredible talent, but by continuing to pursue her own creative journey with courage, authenticity and passion.
You can catch Tika on Tuesday, 4 August at 7.30pm on Channel 7, or stream the episode on 7plus. The new season of The Voice Australia premieres this Sunday, 2 August.
We're so excited to cheer Tika on as she takes to the national stage and know our community will be right behind her. Congratulations, Tika! We're so proud to have you as part of the Preshil community.
Term 3 Chess Coaching with Chess Australia
Our Thursday Chess Club is back, giving students the opportunity to sharpen their minds while having fun with one of the world's most strategic games.
Led by Chess Australia Pty Ltd under the guidance of International Master and FIDE-accredited coach Leonid Sandler, students will build valuable skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, concentration and strategic planning. Whether they're learning the basics or refining advanced tactics, Chess Club is a fantastic way for students to challenge themselves, grow in confidence and enjoy the excitement of the game.
