Hello Preshil community,
Welcome to another edition of the Weekly!
Farewell, Year 12 – Valedictory Dinner 2025
This evening marks a significant moment in the lives of our Year 12 students, as we gather for their Valedictory Dinner. For many of them, today is their final day as Preshil students. From here, they begin to step beyond the progressive walls of our school and into the broader world, carrying with them their hopes, dreams, and aspirations.
We are immensely proud of this remarkable cohort. The final two years of schooling are fast paced and demanding. Our Year 12s have navigated this time with resilience and determination, supporting one another and forging a strong sense of unity along the way.
Tonight is a culmination not just of these past two years, but of an entire journey from childhood to young adulthood. Kindergarten to Year 12. It is with both pride and a touch of sadness that we send our Year 12s off. We wish our graduating class the very best for their futures. You will always be part of the Preshil community.
A Community Farewell
As part of our Preshil tradition, we come together as a whole-school community to honour and celebrate our graduating class. Tonight’s celebration has been lovingly prepared by staff and children alike. Our Arlington children and staff have handcrafted decorations, thoughtful created and wrapped personalised gifts, and a written note for every Year 12 student. These gestures embody the spirit of giving and connection that defines our school.
This evening isn’t just a farewell, it’s an expression of gratitude, love, and support from our younger students, parents, teachers, and staff. It is a true celebration of what makes Preshil special: a deep sense of belonging, and a community that uplifts each individual.
Campus Futures Update
This week, we hosted a second round of Campus Futures information sessions, providing updates on our strategic vision and plans for the school’s future. These sessions, held both in-person and online, have been incredibly valuable for sharing details on timelines, site development, and the evolving educational vision that will continue to shape Preshil’s future.
They’ve also been an opportunity to connect directly with families, hear their questions and perspectives, and reinforce our shared commitment to making thoughtful, future-focused decisions together for our school.
Warmly,
Aaron Mackinnon
Principal
